Called “the world’s reigning male chorus,” by the New Yorker magazine, and named 2008 Ensemble of the Year by Musical America, Chanticleer has developed a reputation for its interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz, and from gospel to exciting new music. Named for the “clear-singing” rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, Chanticleer is composed of twelve outstanding male vocalists. Says the Boston Globe, "the singing of Chanticleer is breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation, purity of blend, variety of color and swagger of style."
